About the show

Bob Stauffer returns for another season as host of “Total Sports” on the Team 1260 Monday thru Friday from 3:00-6:00 PM.
The opinionated Stauffer is joined by rotating co-hosts including Mark Spector (National Post), Ryan Rishaug (TSN), Robin Brownlee (former Edmonton Oilers beat writer for both the Edmonton Sun and Edmonton Journal) funnyman Ken Reid (CTV), Dean Millard (Global TV) and with a significant contribution from producer Corey Graham.
Stauffer and the show’s mantra is simple…product…product…product!
Good guests, with interactive discussion via open line, e-mail and trivia, result in a must hear afternoon drive show that tackles subjects and issues with brutal honesty much to the chagrin of some Edmonton’s sports teams and personalities.
The self-professed sports junkie works the phones every day and has scooped the papers and the networks for some of the biggest news involving Edmonton-based teams over the last five years.
Stauffer began his career broadcasting Golden Bears hockey and football games in 1989 while still attending the University of Alberta, and has called over 500 Golden Bears games in his career, including five National Championship victories for Bears hockey.
In 1995-96 the Edmonton native began working for Molstar Communications on visiting NHL Television broadcasts on the production side, which led to opportunities with Hockey Night in Canada, ESPN, TSN and Sportsnet.
In August of 2000 Stauffer was named Communications Officer and Broadcast Director for Athletics at the University of Alberta a position he held for six full seasons, and remains a consultant for Athletics.
In January of 2001 Stauffer was chosen as a fill-in play-by-play voice of the San Jose Sharks and called his first NHL game on January 4th of that year at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
In February of 2003 Stauffer joined the Team 1260 launching “Total Hockey” a daily one-hour afternoon radio show and in September of that same year Stauffer and Spector teamed up creating “Total Sports”.
